What is the Refer A Friend program? 

It allows existing customers to give and receive 10,000 Points ($100 value) for referring friends and family to sign-up with NRG Energy.

 How do I refer a friend to NRG Energy? 

Copy your unique referral link from the “Refer A Friend” button at the top of your customer portal and send it to your friend. Your friend will need to use your unique link to sign-up.  

 When do I collect my referral bonus?  

If you have referred a friend, you will receive your referral points once both you and your friend have been with NRG Energy for 60 days. Both you and your friend must be active with NRG Energy and current on all your NRG Energy bills to be eligible to receive the referral reward. 

Please note: Referred customer must enroll in a non-Solar Buyback Plan of 12 months or longer.
