What is the NRG Energy Rewards Program?

NRG Energy Rewards is our way of saying thanks. You’ll earn Rewards Points for many of the things you are already doing, and Rewards Points mean dollars off your bill!

How do I earn Reward Points?  

As you take action, so do we – giving you Points! Your NRG Energy Reward Points will accumulate with no limit to how many you can earn.

One-time Rewards:

• Setting up Auto Pay (500 points / $5.00) 

• Opting-into Paperless, and skipping your paper bills (500 points / $5.00) 

If you opt-in to these programs and immediately reverse (within one billing cycle), NRG Energy reserves the right to rescind any points awarded or credits applied.

Ongoing Rewards:

• Referring a friend to NRG Energy (10,000 points / $100.00)

Please note: Referred customer must enroll in a non-Solar Buyback Plan of 12 months or longer.

When do I collect my referral bonus?  

If you have referred a friend, you will receive your referral points once both you and your friend have been with NRG Energy for 60 days. Both you and your friend must be active with NRG Energy and current on all your NRG Energy bills to be eligible to receive the referral reward.

How do I redeem Rewards Points?

Redeeming Rewards Points is easy. Just log-in to your NRG Energy Account. Then choose to apply your Rewards Points as a credit toward you bill.
